JJ Amstrong Defends Raffi Ahmad Regarding Money Laundering Allegations: NCW Delusional!

Raffi himself, accompanied by well-known lawyer Hotman Paris, has firmly denied the allegations in front of the media. And apparently, this has also caught the attention of lawyer, lecturer, and legal activist J.J. Amstrong Sembiring.

Amstrong, who is also a former candidate for the 2019-2023 KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission), has defended Raffi. He tried to discuss in detail, starting from the word 'alleged' money laundering that NCW accused Raffi of.

"It should be known that the word 'alleged' used by NCW is a matter that is still based on presumption because it still needs to be proven true. Therefore, the word 'alleged' is temporary. The word 'alleged' often used in the legal world is adopted from the context of the principle of presumption of innocence," explained Amstrong to the media.

"Meanwhile, the principle of presumption of innocence is interpreted as a provision that considers someone undergoing a criminal process to remain innocent and therefore their rights as citizens must be respected until there is a verdict from the court stating their guilt," he continued.

Furthermore, according to Amstrong, the word 'dugaan' (allegation) is often used by someone as a shield after making serious accusations. In this case, Raffi becomes the victim.

"It is biased and confusing if the word 'dugaan' is used as an accusation towards a subject or someone, because both parties do not have any legal problems, so the word 'dugaan' seems to be a strong 'tool' used as a shield to accuse someone," explained Amstrong.

"It is very inappropriate and absurd because in fact, there are no legal problems between NCW and Raffi Ahmad, so it is not appropriate to use the word 'dugaan' towards Raffi Ahmad and once again, in terms of legal rationality, they have no legal correlation. Therefore, NCW's 'dugaan' can also be called 'HALU' (delusional)," he added.

According to Armstrong, Raffi and anyone else have their own rights to live their lifestyle as long as it doesn't violate the established laws. He also gave advice to Raffi regarding this case.

"My advice to Raffi Ahmad or anyone who experiences something like this, if it's just an 'allegation' or simply a 'hypothesis', then it's just an assumption and even more so if it seems forced. That's called being DELUSIONAL, so just ignore it," concluded Armstrong.
