Just a Few Days After Becoming Doddy Sudrajat's Legal Counsel, Sunan Kalijaga Decides to Resign: We Prioritize Conscience

A few days later, Sunan took the initiative to meet Faisal, who is Doddy's son-in-law. With a big heart, he apologized for the emotional statements made during the press conference.

"During the press conference, I was a bit provoked emotionally because honestly, I don't like seeing the video given by Mr. Doddy at that time. The edited TikTok video is not educational, so it provoked me," said Sunan, who was met in the Kebon Jeruk area, West Jakarta, recently.

1. Choosing Mediation in Court

Sunan Kalijaga has seen from two perspectives of the problem between Doddy Sudrajat and Faisal, which has now become public consumption. However, when Sunan invited Doddy to mediate with his son-in-law, the father of the late Vanessa Angel chose mediation from the court.

"After meeting with Mr. Faisal and Mrs., then I conveyed it to Mr. Doddy. He said that Mr. Sunan had scheduled mediation with the court that they had a mediation schedule to sit together. Mr. Doddy chose that path," explained Sunan.

Meanwhile, as a legal representative, Sunan Kalijaga hopes that Doddy Sudrajat and Faisal are willing to talk outside the court's agenda. So that when the issue progresses to litigation, there is nothing that becomes an obstacle.

"Although my hope is that they can meet before entering the mediation area of the court. So when both parties mediate without legal representation, they can talk from the heart to find a good solution. So that when they go to court, there are no more problems for each party," said the father of Salmafina Sunan.

3. Resigning as Legal Advisor

Furthermore, Sunan Kalijaga revealed that he resigned from his position as Doddy Sudrajat's legal representative. In the future, he and his team will no longer interfere if something happens.

"I work not only because I am given power or rewarded for legal services. But we also prioritize conscience. When a problem or case that we handle is no longer in line with our conscience, we don't need much time to take a stance," said Sunan.

"In this regard, we convey that I and the law firm have declared to resign from the power that has been given," he added.

4. Doddy Sudrajat's Reaction

Since they couldn't meet in person, Sunan Kalijaga sent his resignation letter through WhatsApp. Doddy Sudrajat responded wisely and apologized for the situation that arose.

"From his reply message, he still wants to maintain a good relationship with me. And that's how it should be because legal power and his client are work-related matters, not personal issues," concluded Sunan.
