Kekeyi's Song 'Keke Bukan Boneka' Refrain Similar to His Work, Papa T Bob Wants to Resolve It Through Family Channels

Kapanlagi.com - The controversy surrounding the song Keke Bukan Boneka sung by Kekeyi is not yet over. After the issue with Rinni Wulandari's song titled Aku Bukan Boneka, now this viral single is also said to be similar to the song Menulis di Atas Kertas by Papa T Bob sung by 5 Anak Centil.

The part that is similar between the song Keke Bukan Boneka and Menulis di Atas Kertas is in the refrain. T Bob Vargo Riawan, Papa T Bob's son, confirmed this.

"Initially Rinni, then other friends showed that this part of the refrain is very similar to the song Menulis di Atas Kertas by 5 Anak Centil. Then we coordinated with papa and papa said it should be resolved through family channels," said T Bob when contacted by KapanLagi.com, Thursday (11/6).

1. Already Contacted Kekeyi

To resolve this issue, Papa T Bob has already contacted Kekeyi through the number listed on Instagram. However, the number held by Kekeyi's mother only responded after this issue blew up in the media.

"I was told to contact their management. What confuses me is why do I have to email their management? They have already used and performed my song. It would be better if this is resolved within the family and they contacted us. Even if it's not through WhatsApp, it can be through any other means. But unfortunately, we are the ones being told to do so. However, I will still coordinate with my advisor to find a solution," he explained.

2. Already Reprimanded Since June 2nd

The issue between Papa T Bob and Kekeyi only recently surfaced. Accusations that they were seeking attention from the famous Instagrammer from Nganjuk started to emerge. However, T Bob Jr emphasized that they are not simply seeking attention, and they have actually addressed this issue since some time ago.

"Actually, I have already reprimanded them since June 2nd, but it's only now being noticed by the media. So it seems like I'm taking advantage of the moment. Actually, it's not about taking advantage of the moment," he explained.

3. Can Be Prosecuted If in Accordance with the Law

Papa T Bob's decision to take the family route is because he doesn't want to be involved in such problems. Because if it is taken seriously, the similar part of the song Keke Bukan Boneka could entangle Kekeyi in legal matters as it has violated the Copyright Law.

"At first, I didn't know. When I checked, it turned out to be true (similar) in the chorus part, in my opinion. As for the bars, please check for yourself. But if two bars are repeated, it is already a violation according to the law. If I see it, only the lyrics are changed. As for the chords, they will definitely be different because it is sung by a woman or a man, it will definitely change. But the vocal tone is similar to Papa's," he explained.

4. Family Relations

What Papa T Bob wants is good intentions from Kekeyi. If Kekeyi has objections, T Bob wants to have a good conversation with all parties involved.

"If Kekeyi feels objection, let's talk it out within the family, meaning let's resolve it nicely. We still want to prioritize family relations. We support Kekeyi in creating, but we support it with the right kind of creation because Indonesia needs education about copyright and how Indonesian art should be respected.
I'll wait for 3x24 hours. If I made a mistake, I will feel bad and immediately ask for clarification. If I am told to contact their management, it seems like I am asking for something and I don't want to go in that direction. Give them their rights if it is indeed their rights," he concluded.
