Kapanlagi.com - Actress Kimberly Ryder expressed her disappointment towards her husband, Edward Akbar, who prefers to appear on television shows rather than attend his divorce hearing. Kimberly finds Edward's decision quite strange, as she believes that household issues should be resolved through legal channels, namely in court.
"It's weird, right? He (Edward) comes to the TV show but doesn't come to the hearing. If he really wants to settle everything, it should be done here," said Kimberly at the Religious Court (PA) in Central Jakarta, Wednesday (23/10/2024).
The hearing was supposed to listen to witnesses from the defendant's side, but Edward was absent again. Kimberly also admitted that she was invited to appear on the same television show.
However, unlike Edward, Kimberly decided to decline the offer. She feels there is no benefit in appearing on such a show amid the ongoing legal process.
"I was also invited to that (television) show from the beginning of the hearings and many times, and until now I am still being invited, for what?" said Kimberly Ryder.
According to her, the invitation is irrelevant to her efforts to resolve household issues peacefully in court. Furthermore, Kimberly feels it is unethical to air personal problems in public through a television show.
"It's just that if I go to an event like that, well, you know, it's not official, I'm just exposing it for public consumption, and what can I say, I'm also being paid, it feels different," said Kimberly.
Kimberly regrets the development of a situation that could have been resolved amicably in court, but has instead become increasingly complicated. She admits that initially she did not want to expose shame, but now the situation has evolved into a mutual unveiling of each other's flaws.
"I actually do not want to expose shame, but it has turned into exposing shame. What should have been a situation where we didn't need to air our dirty laundry has instead turned into both sides revealing their shame," said Kimberly.
