1. Understanding Each Other

As a musician, Melly Goeslaw and Anto Hoed understand each other. This means that Melly's skill in writing lyrics would not be complete without Anto Hoed's expertise as a composer. 

And for 25 years, Anto Hoed apparently already understands what is in Melly's mind about her songs. 

"Because I can't play musical instruments, I just hum. I hum, and when there are lyrics, I write them myself, and Mas Anto does the chords," said Melly Goeslaw. 

"It's been a long time, 25 years, so he understands, approximately if my chords are not far from this," she continued. 

2. Different Ways of Thinking

Anto Hoed also explained that in the process of creating a song, every composer has their own way of thinking. And because they have been together for 25 years, he understands exactly what is in Melly's mind. 

"Maybe a song is made based on the composer's way of thinking. So the philosophy is that a composer has different ways of thinking. Maybe Melly is right, because I have been with her for years, I know Melly's way of thinking, so I can capture it faster," said the 56-year-old man.
