Legal Counsel Will Discuss with Gaga Muhammad After Knowing the Prosecutor's Appeal

Gaung Sabda Alam Muhammad's legal counsel, also known as Gaga Muhammad, Fahmi Bachmid, visited the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday afternoon (3/2/2022). Fahmi's visit aimed to file an appeal. However, the appeal has not been submitted by Fahmi. This is because Fahmi just found out that the Public Prosecutor also filed an appeal against the traffic accident case.

"So, earlier I went to the court. After arriving at the court, I was notified that the prosecutor filed an appeal. After being informed that the prosecutor filed an appeal, I have to inform Gaga Muhammad as the defendant," said Fahmi Bachmid when contacted by reporters on Thursday (3/1/2022).

1. Previously Filed an Appeal

Previously, Gaga Muhammad has filed an appeal after being sentenced to 4.5 years in prison by the panel of judges at East Jakarta District Court for a traffic accident that caused his former girlfriend at the time, Laura Anna, to be paralyzed.

"I have already filed an appeal on January 24th, that is the appeal statement. From the appeal statement, there is an appeal memorandum, and the appeal memorandum is in the procedural law," said Fahmi.

"There is no time limit as long as the high court has not decided. The appeal memorandum must be submitted at least within 14 days. So, on Tuesday," Fahmi concluded.

2. Submitting an Appeal Memorandum

Gaga Muhammad's legal representative wants to submit an appeal memorandum. Fahmi, as Gaga's legal representative, revealed that he has requested from the court clerk's office regarding the appeal memorandum he will submit on Tuesday. This will be done after Fahmi discusses the appeal with Gaga Muhammad and his family. Interestingly, the prosecutor also filed an appeal.

Therefore, Fahmi will have another discussion with Gaga Muhammad. After that, he will submit the appeal memorandum to the court.

"That also needs to be discussed before I explain in detail in the appeal memorandum. So, I asked for the appeal memorandum to be submitted on Tuesday after I discuss it again with Gaga Muhammad regarding the prosecutor's appeal," said Fahmi.

3. Gaga Not Hurt

The mother, Janariah, admitted that she did not feel hurt by the judge's decision to sentence her child to four years and six months in prison. According to her, it is the best punishment for her child.

"We will never be hurt, as long as this is the best punishment. And this is a valuable lesson for Gaga that she must take its wisdom. So, let's just relax," said Janariah.

4. Endure with Sincerity

It is known that Gaga Muhammad was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for a traffic accident that caused severe injuries and paralysis to Laura Anna.

Regarding the trial, Janariah said she did not mind the decision of the judges at the South Jakarta District Court. Janariah believes that Gaga Muhammad will sincerely endure the four years and six months in prison.

"God willing, he (Gaga) will endure it sincerely, whatever it is. He is still young, so just relax. I'm just quoting what Laura's older sister said, that God never sleeps, He will see where the truth lies. Just relax," said Janariah at the East Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (19/1/2022).

5. Proven Guilty Gaga

The case experienced by Gaga Muhammad has indeed become the center of attention for netizens, with many supporting the heaviest possible punishment for Gaga.

Gaga Muhammad has been convincingly proven guilty for the accident that caused his former girlfriend, Edelenyi Laura Anna, to become paralyzed and eventually pass away. The young man has been found guilty of violating Article 310 Paragraph 3 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Gaga has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison. The former girlfriend of celebrity influencer Awkarin is also required to pay a fine of Rp 10 million.
