Former child artist Leony recently shared her frustration through a video on social media about the costs she has to bear when processing the name change of her father's inherited house. Expressing her shock, Leony feels that many tax regulations are burdensome as she has to pay a substantial tax despite already paying property tax every year.

In a video uploaded on September 8, 2025, Leony admitted she was shocked because the inheritance documents needed to be completed, while just to change the name from her father’s to her own, she had to pay an inheritance tax of 2.5 percent of the property value, which amounts to tens of millions of rupiah.
She questions why she has to pay taxes again for administrative matters like changing the name, while the tax on the asset itself has already been paid previously.
This is felt to be burdensome because the house has been routinely subjected to Land and Building Tax (PBB) every year.
Leony also expressed her dislike for the tax system, which she considers overlapping and unreasonable.
In another post, Leony explained her conclusion that she must continue to pay the BPHTB. "But that's just how the rules are, so as a citizen, I can only follow the rules while grumbling," she typed in the post.
On the other hand, Leony also highlighted how the flow of taxes in this country has so far not provided any benefits to its people.
"Paying taxes for a lifetime has never yielded results; all I see is that only officials enrich themselves while society becomes more chaotic," he lamented.
Many netizens also responded and highlighted the taxation system that is considered too burdensome for the community. Some even referred to it as a form of "unreasonable levy" and called for the government to evaluate the inheritance tax regulations.
