It is not new to see Indonesian celebrities switch gears and become members of the DPR. Of course, before becoming members of the DPR, they must first join a political party, campaign in their electoral districts, and only if they receive the most votes in the elections can they become representatives of the people.
Here are some Indonesian celebrities who have joined the National Mandate Party (PAN) and nominate themselves as members of the DPR. Who are they?
Elly Sugigi has now become active as a member of PAN and has visited her electoral districts in three areas of East Jakarta, namely Pulogadung, Cakung, and Matraman. She also promotes her real name, Elly Suhari.
Uya Kuya and Astrid are also candidates. Uya Kuya first nominated himself in the South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and overseas electoral districts. Meanwhile, Astrid is a candidate for the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) in District 7, which includes Cilandak, Pesanggrahan, and Kebayoran Lama.
Actor and comedian Oppie Kumis also nominated himself to represent the East Jakarta electoral district, which includes Makasar, Ciracas, Pasar Rebo, and Cipayung.
Another couple who nominated themselves are Pasha Ungu and his wife, Dellia Wilhelmina. While Pasha is in Jakarta, Adelia joined as a candidate for the Regional Representative Council (DPR RI) in Central Sulawesi Province.
Verrell Bramasta follows in his mother's footsteps, Venna Melinda. He is running as a candidate for the DPR from the National Mandate Party (PAN) for Electoral District VII in West Java, with number 8.
Primus Yustisio runs as an incumbent in the 2024 Election from PAN for West Java V Electoral District, number 5.
Desy Ratnasari runs again as a DPR candidate in the 2024 Election. Desy runs through PAN for West Java IV Electoral District, number 1.
Eko Patrio also runs again in the DKI Jakarta I Electoral District, which includes East Jakarta.
Selvy Kitty also enters the political stage. Her electoral district is Jabar XV, which includes Tasikmalaya City and Regency.
