Jason Fuchs' appointment is one of the biggest developments in the live-action MY HERO ACADEMIA project. He is known for his expertise in working on superhero-themed films with large production scales.

In addition to writing Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, Fuchs is also behind the script for Argylle. His experience in building superhero characters is considered suitable for bringing Izuku Midoriya's story to the live-action format.

Meanwhile, the director's position remains entrusted to Shinsuke Sato. His name is already familiar to manga lovers as he has worked on adaptations of BLEACH and KINGDOM, so it is hoped that he can maintain the distinctive atmosphere of the original work.

MY HERO ACADEMIA is set in a world where almost everyone has a special ability called Quirk. In the midst of this hero-filled society, Izuku Midoriya is born without any powers.

However, he never gives up on pursuing his dream of becoming a superhero. His life changes when the strongest hero grants his power to Midoriya, paving the way for him to join a special academy for aspiring heroes with the motto "Plus Ultra," which means to keep exceeding one's limits.

Midoriya's journey is then filled with various challenges, from intense training to facing dangerous enemies that threaten the world.

3. Global Popularity Becomes a Major Asset for Live Action Adaptation

Since its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014, MY HERO ACADEMIA has grown into one of the largest manga franchises of the last decade.

The series has spawned a television anime, animated films, various awards, and merchandise that is spread across the globe. The total circulation of the manga has even surpassed 100 million copies, placing it among the best-selling manga of all time.

For Netflix, this project is part of an effort to expand its catalog of anime adaptations that continue to attract global audiences. The growing worldwide popularity of anime has led the streaming service to keep investing in various major titles.

Outside of the MY HERO ACADEMIA project, Jason Fuchs is also developing the IT: Welcome to Derry series as a prequel to Stephen King's IT story, which is scheduled to premiere next October. In addition to being known as a writer, he is also active in acting and has appeared in several popular films and television series.
