Luna Maya's Exciting Story About Being a Director of the 'USTAD MILENIAL' Series

Kapanlagi.com - Luna Maya became a guest director in the USTAD MILENIAL series that will soon air on the We TV streaming channel. She accepted the opportunity because of the friendship that has been established with Eko Kristianto as the producer.

"This is my first time directing a series. If asked why, it's definitely because of Mas Eko. We have been friends for 20 years and on average when we get a project, he produces it. Because I already know his work rhythm and he has a good vision and mission. Originally, I wanted to meet first, but Mas Eko said 'No need to think anymore'," Luna said during a virtual press conference on Friday (9/4/2021).

1. Addicted to Being a Serial Director

Because she became a guest director in a serial production, Luna Maya got carried away. While laughing, she challenged to be trusted as a director in an upcoming title.

"I have never directed a serial before. The technical aspects here must be different because the main director is Mas Hestu Saputra, and then I entered in the middle, afraid if I could do it or not. But with the help of Mas Eko, Mas Hestu, everything went smoothly, even got addicted. If there is a serial, I want it. Who needs a director ha ha ha," Luna said.

2. Indonesia Needs to Upgrade the Entertainment for the People

USTAD MILENIAL adds to the list of series that will enliven the streaming platform. According to Luna Maya, it's time for Indonesia to upgrade the entertainment for its people so as not to lose to foreign dramas.

"I'm happy because of this project. If it's a soap opera, you know how the work system is. At first, I thought it would be the same, but Mas Eko said it's different. From the work, from the Director of Photography (DOP), everything is different. Even the script is already locked for 20 episodes. Very interesting. It's time for Indonesia to truly upgrade the quality because we are capable. Whether it's from Korea, Thailand, anything... you guys gonna watch out!" said the 37-year-old actress.
