Making the Film 'SELESAI', Tompi Presents a Different Perspective on the Mistress

Kapanlagi.com - After successfully directing his debut film, PRETTY BOYS, Tompi returns with his latest work titled SELESAI. This romantic drama stars Gading Marten, Anya Geraldine, and marks Ariel Tatum's comeback in the acting world.

The making of SELESAI was conceived by Tompi with Imam Darto as the scriptwriter after several scripts they had could not immediately begin shooting due to the pandemic. Finally, the musician revealed a new, simpler idea.

Because he didn't want to take a story with many locations, they thought of a domestic drama. Where the setting of the scenes only revolves around the house.

"I asked Darto to create a simple story and shoot it in one location. Automatically, it's about a family, but we take a unique perspective and ultimately we take the perspective of infidelity," said Tompi in a recent virtual press conference.

Tompi brings up the issue of infidelity because it is always a hot topic of discussion on social media. There will be two sides that eventually develop in society, but most people side with the legitimate wife.

"News about homewreckers is currently active, right? What if homewreckers are actually doing the right thing? This is a matter of perspective. Homewreckers feel like they are saving the crumbling marriage of a man, while the wife feels like the marriage is crumbling because of the homewrecker. Now, let's see from which perspective," said Tompi.

"We are always trapped in a general perspective. But does what is general apply in every situation? Not necessarily. There is always a cause and effect," added the man who is also a cosmetic surgeon.

FINISHED telling the story of Ayu who wants a divorce after finding out about her husband's affair. However, the situation becomes complicated when the in-laws suddenly come to the house and ask for the presence of a grandchild.
