Although Indonesia has a very large and enthusiastic music fan base, many world musicians are 'reluctant' to stop by the archipelago during their world tours. This phenomenon causes disappointment among fans who feel ignored, even though their contributions in supporting musicians through streaming, social media, and merchandise purchases are quite significant.

The increasing number of world musicians skipping Indonesia as a concert tour destination makes us curious about the reasons. Especially when compared to neighboring countries (like Singapore) which are always chosen as concert destinations. Here are the various reasons why world musicians often skip Indonesia for concerts.

Concerns About Infrastructure and Technical Readiness. Some international promoters assess that the venues and technical quality of stages in Indonesia do not all meet global standards. This includes the quality of sound systems, lighting, and security. This was also the reason Dua Lipa canceled her concert.
