Actress Marshanda shares her story about how she lives life as a single mother without a partner. Although she is often asked about finding a soulmate, the star of the soap opera BIDADARI emphasizes that she chooses to enjoy life casually, without pressure or specific targets.
"Not yet, for now I'm just taking it easy, living life. I already have a child, so I don't feel rushed, there are no targets or anything like that," said Marshanda when met in the Veteran area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (22/1/2025).
According to the woman born in 1989, life without a partner is not something to be worried about. On the contrary, she considers emptiness or boredom to be a normal part of life that does not need to be avoided.
"When I'm feeling empty, I engage in my hobbies. But if it's a normal day, there are many tasks that need to be completed. And if I'm feeling empty, today I'm with my child, and I believe that when we have no activities, boredom is a normal part of life, so it's not something to be avoided. Yes, that's life," she explained.
Nevertheless, Marshanda does not deny that she has gone through phases of loneliness in her life. However, over time, she found ways to cope with those feelings by focusing on things that make her happy.
"I did go through a phase like that. But now, I’m more focused on work. I’m happy with my job, I’m happy with my family," said the mother of one.
One way Marshanda fills the void is through art. She enjoys writing poetry and creating songs as a form of positive emotional outlet. "When I feel lonely, I like to write poetry. And if I can create a song, I’ll make a song," added Marshanda with a smile.
When asked if her friends have ever tried to set her up with someone, Marshanda confirmed this. However, she feels she has yet to find the right person to be her life partner. "Yes, there have been attempts. But, I just haven’t found my match yet," she stated briefly.
Marshanda also conveyed that although she is not closing herself off from finding a partner, she still chooses to live life casually and full of happiness. Her main focus at the moment is her child, work, and her own happiness.
