Medina Zein's Pretrial against Irwansyah Rejected, Legal Counsel: No Problem

Kapanlagi.com - Medina Zein's pretrial petition against the SP3 or termination of the embezzlement case with the accused Irwansyah was rejected by the Bandung District Court on October 6, 2020.

Regarding this matter, Medina Zein's legal counsel, Rahman Arif Nasution, said that the rejection of the pretrial would not affect Irwansyah's counter-report at the South Jakarta Metro Police.

"So for us, it's not a problem because the case reported by Medina Zein is more related to the company's affairs because Irwan refuses to disclose the company's finances, even though it has been requested several times, but Irwan refuses to do so. Therefore, Medina reported it to the Bandung Metropolitan Police," said Razman Arif Nasution when met at the Central Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

1. Not Defaming Good Name

According to Razman, in essence, Medina Zein's report on alleged embezzlement is not solely to defame Irwansyah's good name.

"So it's not defaming Irwan's good name. Later, if our client is summoned, we will try to present witnesses that our client does not intend to defame Irwan's good name but is related to company transparency," said Razman.

Razman also said that Medina Zein may not necessarily be designated as a suspect in relation to Irwansayah's report. He also urged Irwansyah not to be too happy too soon.

"Basically, we don't need to worry because Medina may not necessarily be a suspect. We believe we can help Medina Zein get out of this problem. I hope his lawyer (Irwansyah) doesn't get too excited because this is still in process," said Razman.

2. Alleged Embezzlement

As known, Irwansyah and several executives of PT Bandung Makuta were reported by Medina Zein for alleged embezzlement of company funds amounting to Rp 1.9 billion.

Medina's report was later stopped by Polrestabes Bandung or SP3 because it did not meet the criminal elements.

Irwansyah, who welcomed the SP3 decision positively, then reported back Medina Zein to the South Jakarta Metro Police with allegations of defamation.
