Kapanlagi.com - The sixth president of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), was one of the most anticipated performers on the first day of Pestapora 2024 held at Jiexpo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday (20/9/2024).
Performing on the Pestapora Stage, SBY opened his act with the songs "Pelangi di Matamu", "Kamu Nggak Sendirian", and "Kenanglah Aku". His greeting from the stage was met with enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
"How are you, Jakarta? How are you, Pestapora? Still remember me?" asked SBY, who was immediately answered with shouts of, "Remember!!"
SBY also expressed his gratitude to Kiki Ucup Aulia, as the promoter of Pestapora, for the opportunity given.
"This Pestapora is extraordinary, in three days we can see our proud musicians and singers. Hopefully, Pestapora can continue on," said SBY.
In his performance, SBY did not perform alone. He was accompanied by Tohpati Music Director Orchestra and several other musicians. One of the songs he performed with Rio Febrian is "Ku Yakin Sampai di Sana", which he created in 2008.
SBY also performed a song that raises the issue of climate change titled "Untuk Bumi Kita". This song was inspired by his experience when invited to Norway in an effort to combat global warming.
He invites all viewers to care about the earth and the environment. The song is performed together with singers such as Sandy Sondhoro, Joy Tobing, Yuni Shara, Ario Wahab, and Lala Karmela.
In addition, SBY also reminisces about the COVID-19 pandemic with the song "Light in the Darkness". This song was created as a tribute to those who have passed away due to the pandemic.Â
"This one song brings back memories. Yes, indeed it was a dark memory in 2021 with the COVID-19 pandemic. Do you still remember? At that time, I was inspired to create a song," he said.
"Finally, I created the title Light in the Darkness. This song reflects on the past of the city and also prays for our brothers and sisters who have passed away due to COVID to find peace with the Almighty," he continued.
SBY's performance at Pestapora was closed with the song "Yellow" by Coldplay, which was sung together with the musicians and the audience. Before performing the song, SBY took the time to take a selfie with the audience who looked very enthusiastic.
"Thank you, terima kasih Pestapora. See you next year," said SBY as he closed his performance with great enthusiasm.
