In the midst of deep sorrow, Vadel's mother, Titin, was the most affected. Martin Badjideh, Vadel's biological brother, revealed that their mother was in severe shock, causing her physical condition to decline drastically moments after hearing the judge's verdict.
"Mom was in shock. Earlier, she even seemed to drop immediately, her legs were weak too," said Martin Badjideh during a press conference in the Ampera area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (1/10/2025).
The feeling of shock and disbelief was not only felt by the mother. Martin himself admitted that his body also trembled violently when witnessing his brother being sentenced to a lengthy prison term. He felt the same strong emotional impact. "Yes, I trembled too, just like Bintang," Martin revealed.
However, amidst the chaotic atmosphere, an unexpected moment occurred. It was Vadel, who was at the center of this case, who appeared to be the strongest. He tried to calm and provide strength to his family, who were in a fragile state.
Martin recounted how his younger brother whispered to him to calm him in the middle of the courtroom. Vadel's demeanor showed extraordinary calmness despite facing a heavy verdict.
"Vadel, who always calms me down, whispered to me. He said, 'It's okay, Bang Martin. It's okay,'" said Martin.
Moreover, Vadel also implied confidence that the truth would eventually be revealed. He seemed to want to assure his family that this is not the end of everything and there is still hope. "The truth will come out later," Martin concluded, mimicking his brother's words.
