Moved by the Story of Elkasih Band's Vocalist Who Suffered a Stroke & Was Left by His Wife, Ruri Repvblik Comes to Entertain

Kapanlagi.com - The sad story of Elkasih band's vocalist, Noventino Budi Lesmana, who was struck by a stroke and had to live in a nursing home, reached Ruri Repvblik. As a fellow musician, Ruri didn't stay silent.

On Thursday, July 17, 2020, Ruri visited Panti Pniel located in the Bintaro area, South Jakarta, where Noventino Budi Lesmana lives with other residents of the nursing home.

After meeting, Ruri couldn't hide his sad expression when seeing his friend who used to be strong on stage, now helpless in a wheelchair.

1. Paralyzed

Half of his body is paralyzed, thin, and unable to speak. Only a smartphone always accompanies Noventino for communication. Even Nino, his nickname, seems to have difficulty moving his fingers to respond to Ruri's questions.

After chatting, Ruri invited Nino for a walk while singing Elkasih's song, Kau 3Kan Cinta (You Complete Love). Ruri also fed Nino snacks and was seen giving him gifts in the form of food and a T-shirt.

"I also entertained oma opa (grandparents) through singing and gave encouragement and motivation to Nino to live with spirit even though he is living in this condition," said Ruri.

2. Touched

Ruri hopes that not only she is touched by Nino's condition. She wants fellow musicians to also help Nino, at least by giving him encouragement.

"Nino's condition is really sad, he really needs friends' help. He is 41 years old and can no longer work because of his condition. Moreover, he came here (to the nursing home) not with his wife or family," said Ruri.

Therefore, Ruri plans to share Nino's condition through her YouTube account, Ruri Wantogia, hoping that many people will care about Nino. 

"That's why this is also one of my ways, there are many ways to convey something, especially since the condition is difficult to meet due to the pandemic. So, we can share through social media, YouTube, as long as the goal is positive, to help our friend who is currently sick," she said.

3. One Month as a Resident of the Shelter

Nino, according to one of the shelter staff, has been a resident of the shelter for over a month. "At first, I didn't know that he was a celebrity. But whoever he is, we still accept him because we feel sorry for his condition," he said.

Nino's stroke attack in 2015 was recounted. He even experienced three stroke attacks that resulted in Nino's current condition. Sadly, during Nino's condition, his wife asked for a divorce. Nino and his wife officially divorced in 2017.

After that, Nino was taken care of by his family. However, because they could no longer afford to take care of him, Nino was brought by his friend to the Pniel shelter. "Now, if you ask Nino about his family, he doesn't want to talk about it. He doesn't want to remember his past anymore, he says he's comfortable here," he added.
