Kapanlagi.com - Nagaswara's lawsuit against Gen Halilintar regarding the alleged copyright infringement has been rejected by the panel of judges. Gen Halilintar's legal representative, Sunan Kalijaga, expressed gratitude for the decision.
"Firstly, I express my gratitude to Allah SWT that today the panel of judges has decided to reject all claims from the plaintiff. However, I also want to thank the plaintiff, Nagaswara, because their lawsuit has become a valuable learning experience for our Gen Halilintar family," he said when contacted by phone on Monday (30/3).

"Meaning, considering that we need to protect and promote the Indonesian music industry, our legal team hopes that the music industry and YouTubers can work together well to advance Indonesian music. Personally, I believe that there are no winners or losers because I am confident that both parties, whether plaintiff or defendant, can gain meaningful lessons from this event," he added.
It is known that previously Nagaswara objected because the judge made a decision based on an unsworn witness. Sunan Kalijaga considers that it is all within the jurisdiction of the judge panel.
"Actually, it all goes back to the jurisdiction of the judge panel, which certainly also agreed earlier that this victory does not mean, how should I put it, that we have a hard time saying it, but the point is we will still build good relations with the plaintiff. It means that this is not a victory of 'okay, we won, let's end it', becoming arrogant or euphoric about the victory. We have agreed together earlier that there is indeed a great lesson in this event, both for the Gen Halilintar family or YouTubers in the future, and of course for music industry enthusiasts," he concluded.
This case started in late 2018, when Gen Halilintar covered Siti Badriah's song titled "Lagi Syantik" without permission from Nagaswara music label. Therefore, Nagaswara accused Gen Halilintar of copyright infringement and sued for Rp 9.5 billion in material and immaterial damages.
