Newest SCTV Soap Opera Titled '17+' Goes Viral on Social Media, Ochi Rosdiana: This is a Comedy Genre

Kapanlagi.com - Some time ago, there was a viral news on social media about the newest SCTV soap opera titled 17+ which was considered to contain vulgar elements but passed the censorship for ages 13 and above.

Ochi Rosdiana, as one of the cast members, explained that there are actually no adult scenes in the soap opera. She also stated that this soap opera is a comedy genre.

“This is not an (adult) show that is not good, but it's a comedy genre. Why is it called 17 plus? Just because we want something different,” said Ochi Rosdiana during a virtual press conference, Wednesday (30/6).

1. Story of 17 Rental Doors

Furthermore, Ochi Rosdiana explained that the meaning of 17+ is the desire of the father played by Latief Sitepu who wants to have 17 rental doors.

"Actually, it portrays Babe's (father's nickname) ambition to become a rental property tycoon with 17 doors. But in Indonesia, people think 17 plus refers to content that can only be watched by those aged 17 and above. It caused quite a commotion. Just laugh it off, that's why you should watch it," she said.

2. About Her Role

In this soap opera, Ochi Rosdiana plays the role of Julia, a beautiful girl and the daughter of a rental property tycoon. Unlike her parents who are obsessed with wealth, Julia is focused on pursuing her dreams.

"I play the role of Julia. Julia actually has a strong determination, not interested in love but focused on her dreams. Julia is intelligent, diligent in studying, and successful. Even though Babe has many rental properties, she still takes public transportation to go to college," she concluded.

The soap opera 17+ airs every day starting from Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 21:55 WIB (Western Indonesia Time). Besides Ochi Rosdiana, this soap opera also stars Jeremie Moeremans, Latief Sitepu, Merry Mustaf, Rasyid Karim, Hanna Hasyim, Kevin Lukas, and many more.
