Nikita Mirzani Checkmate Witness in Continued Trial of Alleged Extortion Case

The defendant Nikita Mirzani put up a fierce resistance when given the opportunity to question witness Melvina Husyanti in the continued trial of the alleged extortion case. The most crucial moment occurred when Nikita clarified the allegation of a request for money amounting to Rp 15 billion mentioned by the witness.

During the trial held at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (28/8/2025), Nikita Mirzani directly asked why Melvina took such a serious stance on the fantastic figure. She revealed a fact that had not been disclosed before.

According to Nikita, the message he sent regarding the figure of 15 billion was accompanied by an emoticon, indicating that it was not serious.

"And so on about the chat where I said I asked for 15 M. Here it is clear that earlier the public prosecutor also didn’t mention that the 15 M had a laughing emoticon. There is a laughing emoticon there," Nikita Mirzani pressed.

Melvina could not deny it either. When asked by the panel of judges whether there was indeed a laughing emoticon in the message, she gave a brief answer. "In 15 M? Yes, there is," Melvina replied.

This fact was immediately used by Nikita to question Melvina's intentions, who insisted on wanting to give him a sum of money.

He even accused Melvina of trying to trap him, just like what he suspected Reza Gladys did, the person who reported him in this case.

"Why, why are you so insistent on, eh giving me a sum of money? Do you want to trap me like Reza Gladys?" Nikita asked.

Melvina denied the accusation and stated that she only wanted to focus on improving her product without being disturbed.

"There was no intention to trap. At that time, I wanted to focus on fixing things so that I wouldn't be disturbed again," she replied.

The clarification regarding this laughing emoticon became one of the most dramatic moments in the trial, where Nikita Mirzani attempted to refute the main argument of the witness concerning the serious demand for money.
