Nikita Mirzani Claims She is a Victim of Criminalization: I Am Just a Weak Woman

Controversial artist Nikita Mirzani once again presented her defense in a criminal trial held at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (1/7/2025). In her objection note, Nikita emphasized that she is an victim of criminalization by law enforcement officials.

This case began with a report from Reza Gladys on December 3, 2024, regarding allegations of extortion and money laundering. After negotiations, the amount of Rp4 billion was handed over to Ismail Marzuki, Nikita's assistant, which was the basis for both being named suspects since March 4, 2025. However, Nikita feels that the accusations are unfounded as they relate to a promotional cooperation agreement.

"Therefore, I declare that I do not deserve to be detained for the losses that are part of a business agreement amounting to Rp4 billion," said Nikita before the panel of judges.

This mother of three considers the losses experienced by Reza as a business risk, not a criminal act. Nikita also stated that the prosecutor has cornered her unilaterally in the indictment read in the previous trial.

"And I declare in this trial that the public prosecutor has committed an unjust act by making a heinous slander in the indictment directed at me," she emphasized.

Nikita feels she has been treated unfairly since the beginning of the legal process. She believes the criminalization against her actually undermines the legal system that should protect truth and justice."Legal criminalization like this must not be allowed, as it will destroy the legal order and ruin the foundations of justice," she stated loudly.

Nikita accused the authorities of abusing their power. Furthermore, she even referred to the actions of the investigators and prosecutors as a form of crimes against humanity. "The criminalization of the arbitrary acts committed by the investigators of the Metro Jaya Police and the Public Prosecutor at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office against me is a crime against humanity that must be stopped," she said emotionally.

Nikita also emphasized that she is an ordinary woman who just wants to raise awareness about the dangers of illegal skincare."It is very ironic the portrayal of law enforcement in this country. I, who am just a weak woman, have become the target of the oppressive actions of the investigators... because they insist on making me a suspect and detaining me," she said while holding back tears. She feels sacrificed just for being vocal about an issue she considers important.

In her statement, Nikita questioned the reason for her imprisonment, as she felt she had never committed a serious crime against the state."In the iron bars, I reflect and ask myself in my heart: One, have I ever caused harm to the state? Two, have I ever committed acts of terror against the state? Three, have I ever destroyed state facilities?" she said while crying.

In conclusion, Nikita pleaded for the panel of judges to dismiss the charges against her, or at least suspend the criminal proceedings until her civil lawsuit is resolved."Your Honor... decides... the indictment... is declared invalid... and orders the public prosecutor to release the defendant Nikita Mirzani from Pondok Bambu Prison," she requested.
