Nikita Mirzani Cries in Court, Reveals Still Being Legally Married to Dipo Latief

Kapanlagi.com - Nikita Mirzani has just undergone a trial for alleged assault against her husband, Dipo Latief, at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (2/3). During the trial, Niki read nine pages of objection notes that she wrote with all her feelings.

In the objection notes to respond to the charges read by the Public Prosecutor in last week's trial, facts that Nikita has been holding back were revealed. Even before reading, the mother of three children was briefly silent, holding back her emotional turmoil.

"After I read and carefully studied the charges against me, that I am charged with the alleged crime of assault or unlawfully forcing someone to do or not do something or allowing something to happen by using violence or threats of violence against that person or others," Nikita opened her objection note.

"Furthermore, I have thought about it repeatedly, raising the question: Could a husband, who is so caring and enthusiastic, deliver his wife, who has been pregnant and risked her life giving birth to their own child, to become a defendant like I experienced?" Nikita questioned.

1. Still Legitimate Wife of Dipo Latief

Furthermore, Nikita Mirzani said she never intended any harm to Dipo Latief, who is still her husband and the father of her children. It is normal for arguments to occur in a household.

"Your Honor, I never had any intention to commit the acts that the Public Prosecutor accused me of. As a weak woman, how could I do such a thing to the reporting witness Ahmad Dipo Ditiro, who is none other than my own husband, the head of our household, and the father of my children," Nikita said, stuttering when mentioning her husband's full name.

"Your Honorable Judges, I hereby request to legally state that Ahmad Dipo Ditiro and I are a legitimate husband and wife. Because until now, our marriage registration and divorce application, which are registered at the South Jakarta Religious Court, are still under cassation examination at the Supreme Court. So I don't understand why I am accused of committing a criminal offense under the general criminal law, as the Public Prosecutor accused," she explained.

2. Undergoing Examination While Pregnant

Furthermore, Nikita Mirzani also feels sad because she has to go back and forth to the police station while being pregnant. Even during the examination, she vomited but still had to go through the legal process.

"The country has regulated that pregnant women who work are given leave to take care of the health of their unborn child. The obstetrician who examined me advised me to rest first and not think about things that could make me stressed, which would have an impact on my health condition and my future baby," said Nikita.

"However, specifically for the issues reported by my husband Ahmad Dipo Ditiro, why do I have to be interrogated until I vomit on the examination table even though I am pregnant? After I give birth, I still have to undergo examination without considering and caring about my postpartum health condition and leaving my baby who still needs breast milk," she said sadly.

The trial was adjourned and will resume next Monday (9/3/2020) with the agenda of the Public Prosecutor's response to the exception response.
