No Mediation, Okan Kornelius Reports His Ex-Wife for Alleged Defamation

Kapanlagi.com - No joking around, Okan Kornelius reports his ex-wife, Lee Sachi. Accompanied by his legal counsel, Okan's side stated that they have reported Lee Sachi for alleged defamation.

“We have made a police report. She said things that are not true on electronic media that mentioned my client's name,” said Okan's legal counsel, Sri Dharen, at the Metro Depok Police Station on Monday (15/3).

Okan Kornelius had previously warned Lee Sachi about his plan to file a counter report. Okan claimed that he was greatly disadvantaged and disturbed by Lee's report regarding the alleged theft that occurred in his residence.

"Firstly, my reputation is tarnished, secondly, opportunities that should have come are hindered, work that should have been completed is delayed because of things like this, there are many," said Sri Dharen.

"According to what is desired, because this is to click on the circulating public opinion, so it has an impact on work. And the most fatal thing is that he once said there was a loss that allegedly occurred at my house, like a diamond gold ring and branded bags worth hundreds of millions, even though the ring was not purchased, not made of gold, not diamond but endorsed by a company that endorsed me," continued Okan Kornelius.

Furthermore, after reporting his ex-wife, Okan admitted that there was no communication at all. There was no mediation, Okan Kornelius emphasized that he would take legal action for this.

"Because the police were involved from the beginning, we are also taking the legal route. Mediation is already in the past, now we want it to be clearer, just follow the law, take legal steps according to the applicable law," said Okan Kornelius.

Previously, Lee Sachi made a report regarding alleged theft that occurred at Okan Kornelius' residence in 2020, but at that time Lee did not mention the suspect's identity in her complaint. Meanwhile, in Okan Kornelius' report, Lee Sachi is charged with Article 27 paragraph (3) of Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning ITE in conjunction with Articles 310 and 311 of the Criminal Code regarding defamation and defamation of character committed through electronic media.
