Nostalgia in the Midst of the Corona Pandemic, Leony Reveals the Story Behind the Reunion with Trio Kwek Kwek.

Kapanlagi.com - For those of you who are from the 90s generation, you must be familiar with Trio Kwek Kwek which consists of Leony, Dea Ananda, and Alfandy. Recently, they reunited virtually on Instagram and successfully made their fans nostalgic. Leony revealed that this project started out of boredom.

"We were just bored. So, basically, I've been singing with my friends for almost a month while at home. I often sing together with Dea. When I started regularly posting song covers on IG, Dea wanted to join. Well, I'm really happy," said Leony when contacted by phone on Tuesday (21/4).

Leony also said she had difficulty inviting Alfandy to join Trio Kwek Kwek to sing together because Alfandy now lives in the United States.

"If I invite Fandi, we have already planned to sing the song 'Laskar Pelangi' again. Because it's not a short process. Fandi is already in the US. He works full time there, so it takes a long time to sing with him," she said.

Tak hanya mengcover lagu Laskar Pelangi milik Nidji, mereka pun menyanyikan lagu-lagu hits Trio Kwek Kwek.Penampilan itu mereka persembahkan untuk orang yang paling berjasa bagi karir Trio Kwek Kwek yakni Papa T.Bob yang kini tengah terbaring sakit.

"Lalu di tengah persiapan Laskar Pelangi itu, dapat kabar Papa T.Bob sakit.Ya itu bentuk support kami.Kami ingin dia dengar kita nyanyi lagu ciptaan beliau.Jadi kami rekam, kami japri kirim ke beliau menyemangati dia," papar Leony.

3. No More Reunion

So, after this, does Trio Kwek Kwek plan to create a more serious reunion project?

"No (reunion plan) lah. Yesterday we just sang together for IG content during the pandemic. When I sang with Dea or Fandi, I didn't think about a reunion, they are just my friends," said Leony.

"And yesterday, when we sang for Papa T. Bob, we didn't think about a reunion either, we just sang together. Then we realized that we haven't sung together for a long time. Finally, we sang together again. There is no intention of a reunion or anything," she concluded.
