Not Free, Angelina Sondakh Apparently Gets a Decade Remission Leave for Three Months

It is known that Angelina has been serving her sentence since April 27, 2012. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison based on the Supreme Court's decision Number: 1616 K/Pid.Sus/2013.

1. Paying Fines

Not only that, Angelina was also fined IDR 500 million (already paid) or an alternative of 6 months imprisonment, as well as a compensation of IDR 2.5 billion and US$1.2 million. The compensation has been paid in the amount of IDR 8,815,972,722, but there is still a remaining amount of IDR 4,538,027,278 or an alternative of 4 months and 5 days imprisonment.

"That on March 3, 2022, Angelina Sondakh will be released from the Women's Penitentiary in Jakarta to start the CMB program as a client of the Correctional Institution with the continued guidance of the South Jakarta Correctional Institution for 3 months," said the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Rika Aprianti, when met at her office in Central Jakarta, Wednesday (2/3).

2. Not Paying in Full

"However, because the person did not pay the remaining compensation amount of Rp4,538,027,278 in full, which is equivalent to 4 months and 5 days in prison, the date for Angelina Sondakh to undergo the CMB program is set on March 3, 2022," she continued.

In addition, Rika stated that during the period of serving the sentence, Angelina received a ten-year remission for three months because she was considered to have met the administrative and substantive requirements to be granted the CMB program, which falls on October 29, 2021.

3. Still Receives Guidance

Nevertheless, Riga emphasized that Angelina Sondakh will still receive guidance to prevent any violations during her furlough period.

"This means that the furlough is not complete, it has been scheduled since March. Mbak Angie can take furlough before her release but will still receive guidance from the correctional institution to ensure that there are no violations during that time," she concluded.
