Not Just Any Figure, 8 Facts About Ira Wibowo's Father Who Passed Away at the Age of 94

Last May 20, 2023, Wibowo Wirjodiprodjo celebrated his 94th birthday. Wibowo Wirjodiprodjo appeared to be still energetic and always had a smile on his face during that birthday moment.

Wibowo Wirjodiprodjo is a veteran of the Indonesian independence fighters. Due to his status as a veteran, he was buried in the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta.

At that time, young Wibowo Wirjodiprodjo was part of the student army that fought against the colonizers. Ari Wibowo said that his father was one of the first people to receive a scholarship to Germany after independence. 

In the end, he married a German woman named Sibylle Grossek and they had two children who are known as senior artists in the country, Ira Wibowo and Ari Wibowo.

After living in Indonesia, Sibylle has now returned to Germany. Wibowo and Sibylle are known to have divorced and each of them has a new partner. 

About a month ago, Sibylle visited Indonesia after a long time away. During her visit, she met her ex-husband who has since passed away.

Wibowo Wirjodiprodjo was sick and diagnosed with Covid-19 a year ago. At that time, Ari and Ira took turns taking care of their father, who later had to undergo intensive treatment.

At the end of his life, Ari Wibowo and Ira Wibowo revealed that their father passed away peacefully without feeling any pain and surrounded by beloved family.
