According to Tina, social media has undergone a major transformation, especially in terms of function or usage. According to her, currently, social media is widely used by a few people for business or promotion.

"I actually have had social media for a long time, since the early days of Twitter, I didn't really play Friendster, but I already played Twitter, FB, basically from the very beginning, like that," said Tina Toon to Kapanlagi.com.

"In the past, social media was only for close friends, like Facebook. But now, Twitter and Instagram are used for the public. For example, it has started to be used for promotion as a public figure. In the past, social media was only for personal use, but now it has become a platform," she continued.

1. The Positive and Negative Sides of Social Media

The development of social media, also known as Tina, has caused some negative impacts. As we know, virtual bullying is so common nowadays. In addition, there is also the emergence of buzzers who aim to bring down someone or a particular party.

"If we talk about social media, there are actually two sides, positive and negative. But when it comes to media for socializing, promoting, and others, it's the positive side. But the negative side is, for example, there is a war of statuses, bullying, and others virtually. And there are also buzzers who are used by certain individuals to bring someone down on social media," added Tina.

2. Keep Using Social Media as Usual

Tina is currently a Member of Parliament. Despite that, she still uses all her social media as usual. However, now she can also carry out various socialization programs with the help of social media.

"As for my comments, they never change. I mean, as a public figure, eventually Instagram, TikTok, or whatever, there are also promotions, endorsements, promoting songs when I become an artist, or promoting programs, socializing programs as a Member of Parliament," said the singer of the song "Bolo Bolo."

3. Instagram Account to Listen to People's Aspirations

Currently, Tina uses her Instagram account more for socializing. In fact, the 26-year-old woman also has another Instagram account that she uses to listen to input, criticism, and complaints from the public.

"Regarding hiding status or anything like that, no. But it's more about, when I'm on Instagram or anywhere else, there are some comments or things that I restrict or block. Because it's toxic, but with political accounts, I never do that, like Tina Toon 5, because I have Tina Toon 101. If it's Tina Toon 5, I really open it to the public, it's okay if there are buzzers or whatever, it's okay," said Tina Toon.

"Because it's my responsibility as a representative of the people, whether it's criticism or whatever, we can handle it all, it's not a problem, we accept it. But for accounts like Tik Tok, especially Tina Toon 101, it's really for profiles, so everyone is allowed but they have to follow first before they can comment," Tina concluded.
