Since converting to Islam in 2008 and going through a 10-year prison sentence behind bars, Angelina Sondakh has gone through a very long journey of conversion.

She still confidently wears hijab until now, she also started memorizing the holy verses of the Quran, and became a Quran teacher in a correctional institution.

Last Wednesday (30/8), Angelina Sondakh shared her life experiences on how she took lessons and embraced the guidance that Allah had prepared in a beautiful way, when she became a speaker at the inspirational study session for Muslim women organized by the Indonesian Muslim Businesswomen Association, East Jakarta Branch (IPEMI PD).

Through the study session with the theme 'The Beauty of Your Way of Loving Me' held at Al Falah Mosque, Bambu Apus, Ceger, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Angelina Sondakh conveyed, "The major trial that occurred turned out to be Allah Azza wa Jalla's way of calling His servant to come closer and do many positive things to enhance their faith."

As is known, she embraced Islam before marrying the late Adjie Massaid in 2009.

After getting married, she faced many difficult trials. It started when her husband passed away due to illness, and she also got involved in a corruption case that led her to experience the coldness of prison.

On that occasion, the Chairman of IPEMI PD East Jakarta, Delsi Nuroni, S.Pd invited the audience to take lessons from the inspirational figure Angelina Sondakh in the spirit of getting closer to the Creator, seeking knowledge, and building Islamic brotherhood.

She also invited the audience to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), especially Muslim businesswomen, to be more enthusiastic and capable in strengthening the economy of the ummah.
