Lady Nayoan revealed that the presence of TikTok Shop has been quite helpful for housewives (IRT) who are looking for additional income. Lady also mentioned that by selling on TikTok Shop, she is able to achieve double-digit sales turnover.
"Well, you know, we can sell from home. I see it as something for housewives, it can provide additional income," said Lady Nayoan in the Gunawarman area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/10/2023).
"For my standards, there is a double-digit figure. But that's the sales turnover, not my income," added Rendy Kjaernett's wife.
Lady also regrets the closure of TikTok Shop, which has now been officially closed by the government, following the establishment of regulations regarding the ban on social commerce platforms facilitating trade transactions.
"TikTok had interactions with customers, so there was a unique experience. Hopefully, there will be new and better regulations," Lady hopes.
Before TikTok Shop was officially closed, Lady continued to sell her products as usual through live broadcasts without offering discounts.
"No, it's not like that, I just keep it natural. Usually, I have special prices, so I use them," she said.

TikTok Shop has officially ceased its sales service since Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 17:00 WIB. This information was conveyed by their parent company, ByteDance, through their official website.
"Our legal priority is to respect and comply with the applicable regulations and laws in Indonesia. Therefore, we will no longer facilitate e-commerce transactions within TikTok Shop Indonesia, effective from October 4, at 17:00 WIB," wrote TikTok.

With the official closure of TikTok Shop service, users cannot directly purchase products from this application. When trying to click the 'Shop' menu, it says "Something went wrong. Tap to try again." When clicking the shopping cart to check out the products to be purchased, users cannot make payments.
Through the Business channel of Liputan6.com, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan expresses gratitude to TikTok for accepting the government's decision regarding Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 31 of 2023 regarding electronic commerce.
"Yes, TikTok, we have also expressed our gratitude to TikTok. I have received their letter. TikTok will comply with the government's regulations," said the Minister of Trade after attending the ITC Mangga Dua Mall, Wednesday, (4/10/2023).
He added that the government does not fundamentally prohibit TikTok from operating in Indonesia. However, the company needs to process the necessary permits.
