Kapanlagi.com - Senior actor Tora Sudiro is now officially taking on a new status as a grandfather. His eldest daughter, Azzahra Nabila Sudiro, gave birth to her first child on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The child of Nabila and Ivan Lubis is named Kanoadria Adenang Lubis. The baby boy was born weighing 3.8 kilograms and measuring 48.5 cm in healthy condition.
Ivan, Nabila's husband, recounted the birth process which was initially planned to be normal. However, after discussions with the doctor, it was ultimately decided that the delivery would be done via cesarean section.
"Thank God the delivery went smoothly yesterday, even though we initially planned for a normal delivery, but early in the third trimester, the doctor and we agreed that it would be a cesarean," said Ivan at Brawijaya Hospital, South Jakarta, Monday (23/5/2025).
During the labor process, Ivan felt very supported by the medical team from the hospital. He admitted that he was quite tense before entering the delivery room, but the atmosphere was made more relaxed by the doctor.
"Thank God, thanks to all the help from the Brawijaya team, all the doctors were smooth. Especially at Brawijaya yesterday, our doctor, the anesthesiologist and Dr. Yanuar, when we entered the waiting room, I and Nabila were already tense, it felt like our hearts were about to drop, but Dr. Yanuar really made us feel calm and like, this is nothing. Just like that, he immediately started joking," said Ivan.

Ivan also revealed that he has a trauma related to blood. However, thanks to the support of the medical team, he was able to go through the process without significant obstacles.
"And the delivery process also took place inside, coincidentally I have a blood trauma, but thankfully there were no problems, no vomiting, and I didn't faint inside," he said.

Although the delivery was done via Caesarean, the atmosphere in the delivery room was kept relaxed by the doctors. This made the birthing process feel quicker and more enjoyable for the couple.
"And the whole team of doctors was really nice, while the cesarean process was happening, Nabila was kept joking around, so it felt like it was only 5 minutes, and suddenly we heard our baby crying, thank God," Ivan expressed.

The Caesarean procedure that Nabila underwent was the ERACS method, known for quicker recovery. Ivan mentioned that his wife's condition improved within hours after the surgery.
"The first question we asked was, yesterday's ERACS cesarean because the doctor, Dr. Dinda, really requested the ERACS cesarean. So that the recovery would be faster. And that was true. Finally, after 8 hours post-operation, Nabila was already walking around the room, already went to the toilet, slowly but surely," Ivan explained.
Ivan also compared his wife's experience with the stories of other friends who had given birth using a similar method. According to him, this quick recovery is also important to support work activities.
"But yes, I have heard from several friends who have given birth before that the recovery is indeed faster. Because as husbands, we want to be able to get back to work even faster, right?" he continued.
The doctor handling the delivery, Dr. Dinda, confirmed that the decision to perform a cesarean section was made after many considerations. According to her, Nabila's condition at that time was very calm and controlled.
"So the delivery was last Saturday morning and Nabila was very calm. I think she is one of the very calm patients for a first-time mother. Everything went smoothly, thank God, the baby was born healthy, and the recovery was good too. Everything is okay," said Dr. Dinda.
Doctor Dinda also explained the medical reasons that led her to decide to undergo surgery. There are infection factors that are a concern in determining the best timing for delivery.
"But why did I finally decide to have a cesarean delivery? From the beginning, Nabila was very enthusiastic about giving birth vaginally, but due to the condition of recurrent infections, we had to determine the timing for when this baby is healthy enough to be born," she revealed.
The timing of the surgery was chosen when the infection improved and the baby was declared ready to be born. This decision was also mutually agreed upon by the family.
"So when there were no contractions, the infection was improving, and this was the right time for delivery. So why did we decide? After discussing with the family, with Ivan and Nabila, we finally decided to just go ahead and deliver the baby. The baby's weight is also sufficient," she added.
As a new grandfather, Tora Sudiro admitted to being very happy with the birth of his first grandchild. He also felt relieved because the delivery process was expedited, so it wouldn't interfere with his work schedule.
"For me, alhamdulillah, I am very, very happy, because initially, I wanted it to be normal, right? If it were normal, it might still be in July," said Tora.
Tora explained that if the delivery had taken place in July, he would most likely be busy filming. Therefore, he supported the decision to expedite the delivery process.
"And we don't know when the birth will happen; if it's normal, it depends on the dilation, right? Coincidentally, I have filming in July, so I said just move it forward. It turns out that if it were in July, I wouldn't be available and would be asked to shoot, which would be stressful. A comedy film would end up sad, a comedy film would end up confusing, you know? So in the end, when there was a decision to move it forward for a C-section, I was very happy," he continued.
The 50-year-old actor also reminisced about his children's earlier experiences, who were born via cesarean section. He feels more comfortable with a quick and scheduled process like this.
"Yes, finally when they said it would be advanced, I was very happy. And the acknowledgment is also from my children, before it was just Nabila who was born normally, while my other kids were all born via cesarean as well," said Tora.
Tora also added that this time there is a difference that makes him happier. According to him, his first grandchild was born without him having to bear the costs.
"So I feel more comfortable, faster, and more at ease. And I am very happy because this cesarean wasn't paid for by me, he paid for it himself, so I am really very happy," concluded Tora.
