Officially Divorced and Obtained Custody, Thalita Latief Cannot Prevent Dennis 'Lyla' from Meeting the Child

Kapanlagi.com - The Central Jakarta Religious Court granted the divorce lawsuit of Thalita Latief against Dennis Rizki through an e-court decision on Thursday (29/7/2021). In her lawsuit, Thalita only wanted to divorce and obtain custody of their only child.

When the lawsuit was granted, Maruli Tampubolon, as Thalita's legal representative, expressed appreciation to the Panel of Judges and mediator. They have made a decision that is considered fair for their client.

"So this (lawsuit) has been decided, Thalita won, custody of the child is with Thalita. I appreciate the Panel of Judges and mediator for listening to our side as the plaintiff. From how we presented our lawsuit, to proving what we alleged. This is the fairest decision obtained by my client for their family life," said Maruli quoted by KapanLagi.com during a video call conference after the trial.

1. Thalita Must Not Prohibit Meeting Children

Maruli Tampubolon explained that Thalita Latief did not ask for gono gini property or child support from Dennis Rizki. Even though it has been legally regulated. "We didn't ask the defendant for that matter, so there is no demand from Thalita about it. Even though it is legally regulated. Thalita doesn't want to. I asked, 'Do you want to?'. 'No need' she said. She only wants her child and divorce," explained Maruli.

Although Thalita Latief has custody of the child, Dennis Rizki is still allowed to meet his child. Both have the same rights and Thalita is not allowed to obstruct.

"That is already a provision, both parties have the same rights to the child. One party is not allowed to prevent meeting the child. But perhaps what needs to be considered is the technical aspect. Because this child is not an inanimate object, but a living creature with intellect and feelings. The approach is humanistic, adjusted to the child's condition," said Jajang Sudrajat as the Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Religious Court after the trial in his office.
