The busy shooting schedule that takes up time from morning until night makes it rare for him to interact with his toddler son. Oki shared that Arthur, who is now nearly 4 years old, once cried because he missed his father.
This moment was a wake-up call for Oki, who realized how important his presence is for his child's growth and development. He felt guilty because in the past few days he could only greet Arthur when he woke up in the morning before leaving for work.
"Just this afternoon he cried. He wanted to sleep with Dad. Because for the past few days I haven't been able to interact much with him. I just see him when he wakes up in the morning and say, 'Arthur, Dad is going to work,' and when I come home he is already asleep," Oki Rengga shared with a sad tone.
Nevertheless, Oki tries to make the most of his limited time. If the shooting schedule is a bit late, he makes time to take Arthur for a morning walk. One of their favorite activities is watching planes at Pondok Cabe. In addition, video call technology becomes a lifesaver to ease the longing when he is on set.
"Video call for sure. Definitely. Before sleeping, whatever he does, he video calls me. That means he has noted that his dad works in entertainment. He knows. Because he knows me. 'Where are you going, Dad?' 'I'm shooting'," he added.
This year's Ramadan is predicted to be the peak of Oki's busyness. He is involved in the filming of the movie Gak Ada Matinya and a regular sahur program. However, Oki has planned a "revenge" for quality time with his family after Eid later. He even plans to take a break from work for Arthur.
"I have decided to take a short vacation with my family first. Just a little, not for too long. I feel sorry, especially for Arthur. I want to finish this, after Eid, I want to be with Arthur," concluded Oki Rengga.
