Oki Rengga's Acting Praised by Beby Tsabina, Oki Rengga: I Felt Like I Wanted to Be Hospitalized

Kapanlagi.com - Oki Rengga's success through the film AGAK LAEN has become a significant moment in his career journey. Now, Oki is taking on a new challenge as the main character in the film JADI TUH BARANG directed by Kemal Palevi.

In this film, Oki plays the character Bonar, a man from Sumatra who struggles to leave his unemployment status to get closer to Cantika, played by Beby Tsabina.

Beby Tsabina admitted to being impressed with Oki's acting in the previous project. This was both a surprise and a source of pride for Oki.

"I didn't expect to be praised by Beby. It felt like I wanted to be hospitalized," said Oki while laughing at a press conference at Graha Komando, East Jakarta, Saturday (30/11/2024).

As a newcomer in the acting world, appreciation like this provides extra motivation to give the best. Initially, the reading process was a challenge for Oki. He revealed that the first meeting with Beby felt awkward. However, the atmosphere began to warm up after several readings.

"I tried to keep talking to Beby so it wouldn’t be too hard. After a few readings, Beby was also very welcoming," said Oki.

According to Beby, Oki's presence, known as a comedian, made the reading atmosphere more relaxed. He hopes that the shooting process will further strengthen the chemistry among the cast.

2. Romantic Comedy

"The first day was indeed still awkward, but by the second day, the atmosphere became much more relaxed thanks to Kak Oki," said Beby.

The film JADI TUH BARANG carries the genre of comedy drama with a romantic touch. Oki explained that this film is different from other comedies that tend to combine horror elements.

"The drama and romance are quite strong, so even though there is a lot of comedy, there are still moments that make us go, 'ohhh'," said Oki.

3. There is Dicky Difie to Arafah

In addition to Oki and Beby, this film is also supported by other talented actors such as Dicky Difie, Arafah Rianti, and Natalie Sarah. The story of this film focuses on the struggles of three friends, Bonar, Awang, and Wongso, in searching for jobs amidst various life conflicts.
