As the year 2026 approaches, senior comedian Opie Kumis chooses a different way to close out the year. Instead of a luxurious vacation, the man whose real name is Muchtar Luthfi is busy with social activities.
Together with his fellow comedians, Opie is actively raising funds to help those affected by disasters in Sumatra. This noble activity began a few days ago in the Pinang Ranti area.

Not stopping there, Opie plans to continue his fundraising efforts in Cileungsi in early January. He wants to ensure that the collected aid can be maximized for distribution.
"So, I'm currently organizing a fundraising event for Sumatra. Yesterday I spent three days in front of the Pinang Ranti terminal. Now I want to organize another fundraising event for Sumatra," he said when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Monday (29/12/2025).
"Actually, we accept anything, yes, donations of mineral water or whatever we will accept, money too we will accept," Opie explained.
Opie emphasized that he will directly monitor the fundraising process. However, for the distribution to Aceh and other affected areas in Sumatra, he will send representatives from his team.
"Oh, if I go to Sumatra, no. But later there will be two representatives who will depart to Aceh," he said.
Despite being busy with social activities, Opie Kumis continues to pursue his profession in the entertainment world. His schedule towards the end of this year is quite packed, ranging from lenong performances to preparations for shooting a soap opera for the fasting month.
"Alhamdulillah, from the 24th until the end of this year, it seems like we have a pretty packed schedule," he concluded.
