Oppie Kumis Doesn't Disappointed to Get Few Votes in the 2024 Election, Despite Funding His Campaign by Selling Murai Birds

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian Oppie Kumis is at risk of not passing the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) election in Jakarta. Based on the vote count of the DPRD Jakarta VI electoral district according to the General Election Commission (KPU) on Tuesday (20/2/2024), Opie Kumis, who ran as a candidate from the National Mandate Party (PAN), only received 2,168 votes.

Oppie Kumis' vote count is still lower compared to Bambang Kusumanto, who has collected 2,927 votes. Oppie Kumis stated that he still feels happy even though he received few votes in the 2014 election. The most important thing is that he has participated in the democratic process.

"So, in this democratic process, I don't think about winning or losing. What matters to me is that I have participated, contributed to the democratic process, and socialized with the community," said Opie Kumis when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (20/4/2024).

"So, winning or losing in a competition is something normal. I don't feel too burdened even though I received few votes. The important thing is that I can enjoy and get to know people whom I didn't know before," added Oppie.

This 63-year-old comedian also does not feel disappointed and regret running for the 2024 legislative election. The reason is that during his candidacy as a legislative candidate, he did not spend a lot of money.

"No, why be disappointed, no regrets either. Because Mr. Eko is a good person. When he invited me, I never spent any money. I was supported by him, thank you Mr. Eko," he said.

2. Capital to Sell Birds

Oppie then admitted that during his candidacy as a legislative candidate in the 2024 election, he only had capital from selling a murai bird worth 25 million. Even that was used for the consumption of his campaign team.

"Many people spend money and lose, but it's already written in fate. If Allah wills it to happen, then it will happen. If not, then it won't," said Oppie Kumis.

"Brother Oppie only spent one murai bird for sale, 25 million, that's it. That's only for eating with the campaign team's children. And there's no more," he concluded.
