Optimistic About Recovery, Mpok Atiek Chooses Alternative Treatment to Overcome Her Illness

Senior comedian Mpok Atiek admits that she is not at ease after her doctor said that the polyps in her intestines have a high risk of developing into cancer. She is increasingly worried because not only is she sick, but she is also predicted to die in 2024.

When met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta recently, Mpok Atiek stated that she is optimistic about recovering from her illness. She has been undergoing this alternative treatment for two years.

"So Mpok has an alternative, God willing, pray for recovery," said Mpok Atiek.

"If (alternative treatment) has been two years, but those two years were also other treatments, because I have heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, uric acid, high blood pressure, well, it's the diseases of old age," she continued.

When asked further, Mpok Atiek's efforts in undergoing alternative treatment have yielded results. However, the polyp she has was only recently discovered.

"Alhamdulillah, I keep checking with the doctor, so if the others have recovered, I found out about this (tumor) in June. This treatment has only been six months," she said.

In addition, because of this illness, there are things that she cherishes to maintain her condition. There are many foods and drinks that Mpok Atiek avoids to prevent worsening her illness.

"As for restrictions, Mpok decides for herself to eat boiled foods, such as boiled chicken or mixed vegetable soup, and boiled fish," concluded Mpok Atiek.

"Boiled eggs are okay as long as they're not overcooked. Boiled or grilled fish, fried eggs with just a little oil on the pan. As for drinks, now I can only have plain water," she continued.
