Paula Verhoeven responded to the summons from investigators of Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya regarding the alleged fraud case of the Hanania Group's pilgrimage trips. Paula was examined as a witness in the case that harmed many prospective pilgrims.
This former wife of Baim Wong arrived at the police headquarters early in the morning. She claimed to be cooperative in responding to the summons as a form of compliance with the law in Indonesia.
"I came in response to the summons from the police. As a law-abiding citizen, I came here," said Paula Verhoeven when met at Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday (11/6/2026).
During her time in the interrogation room, Paula admitted she was bombarded with dozens of questions by the investigative team. The questioning process lasted quite a long time from morning until afternoon. "About 30 questions, yes. Since 10 AM," said Paula.
Paula's presence at the Metro Jaya Police was not without preparation. She brought several important documents to support her statements to the investigators regarding her involvement in the umrah activities.
"A lot. There are contracts, there are photos, there is everything," said Paula.
Although her name is caught up in this case, Paula stated that she did not suffer any personal losses. However, she expressed her concern for the victims who failed to depart for umrah through the services of Hanania Group.
"I am frankly concerned, very concerned for the victims. I hope that the victims are also strengthened and receive justice according to the applicable legal process. And I hope we can all participate, so that this issue can be resolved quickly," he concluded.
