Performing at JICOMFEST 2021, Soleh Solihun is Ready to Make People Laugh with Sundanese Stand Up Comedy

Kapanlagi.com - After a successful event in 2019, JICOMFEST or Jakarta International Comedy Festival is back on August 28th. A number of Indonesian comedians are ready to make the audience laugh. Starting from Raditya Dika, Soleh Solihun, Tretan Muslim, Adjis Doaibu, Marshel Widianto, Kiky Saputri, and many more.

One of the performances to look forward to is Soloh Solihun and Om Farhan who will perform in the 'Unyang Anying Show'. This Stand Up Comedy in 100% Sundanese language is presented for the first time at JICOMFEST 2021.

"I'm happy to be invited (to JICOMFEST). Previously, Mo Sidik, one of the people behind the scenes, had a comedy club called Ketawa Comedy Club, he often held events called Unyang Anying. So he proposed the concept to Jicomfest, the concept of Stand Up in Sundanese language," said Soleh Solihun when contacted by Kapanlagi.com.

"Because he saw that when I did Unyang Anying, it was successful and he said it was funny. That's why he proposed this concept to Jicomfest and when Jicomfest approved the concept of Unyang Anying, Mo Sidik invited me and of course I agreed because it's fun," he continued.

1. Ready to Present New Material

For his upcoming performance, Soleh Solihun has prepared new material that has never been presented before. He hopes that the audience, especially those who understand the Sundanese language, will be thoroughly entertained.

"If you want to see me doing stand-up comedy in Sundanese, watch it on the 28th. I rarely do stand-up comedy in Sundanese. Basically, the material I will present is material that is best performed in the Sundanese language rather than in Indonesian. So, most of the material I will present is new," he explained.

"Especially on television, because if the audience doesn't understand Sundanese, they won't fully comprehend the material. So, these are materials that are suitable to be used in Sundanese. So, if you say it's new material, then yes, most of it is new," continued Soleh Solihun.

2. Must Get Used to Virtual Stand Up

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, JICOMFEST 2021 is being held virtually and streamed on Vidio.com. This is, of course, for the comfort and health of everyone. However, this event will certainly be just as exciting as the previous JICOMFEST in 2019. As a comedian, Soleh Solihun is starting to get used to performing virtually.

"The difference is that offline shows have more audience, while online shows only have a few people in the studio. That's the only difference in the atmosphere, there are fewer live audience. In the past, we could directly see the audience in front of us. But now, only a few crew members are in the studio. The ambiance is different, but we have to get used to it," he concluded.
