Adjie was born with the name Adjie Mindosio Pangestu on November 21, 1969, in Semarang, Central Java. He is the child of parents of Sundanese and Javanese descent.
He started his acting career through the series Mahkota Majapahit in 1994. He became widely known after playing Ustaz Addin in the series Lorong Waktu and Jimmy in the series Tersanjung.
Adjie married Annisa Trihapsari on March 26, 1999. From this marriage, they were blessed with a child named Muhammad Rafi Akbar Putra Pangestu. However, the marriage lasted only three years.
Rafi is Adjie's only biological child. As of the release of this news, Rafi Pangestu is already engaged to his girlfriend.
After his divorce from Annisa, he married Nadia Natasha Al Kalifi on June 8, 2007, but on October 7, 2009, they decided to divorce.
Adjie remarried for the third time to Novita Petria, a woman 25 years younger than him, on May 14, 2017. Their wedding ceremony took place in Novita's hometown in Cileunyi, Bandung, West Java.
