Portrait of Fariz RM During the Plea Reading Session, Admits Mistake and Promises to Stop

Senior musician Fariz RM read his plea or personal defense note in the follow-up session of the narcotics abuse case at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (11/8/2025). In front of the panel of judges, he admitted his mistakes and promised to stop using narcotics.

"As I mentioned in the previous defendant examination, I made a mistake. My biggest mistake was choosing to use narcotics in my youth, which subsequently became a bad habit in myself," said Fariz RM.

Although he admitted his addiction, Fariz emphasized that this habit never affected his professionalism as a musician.

"Although I must honestly say, it did not interfere with my professional activities because I never used narcotics while working, so it did not directly affect my reputation," he stated.

The singer of the song "Sakura" also revealed his efforts to recover, mentioning his rehabilitation experience during his third case in 2018, which he described as beneficial. "At that time, in 2018, I could say I was free as an active user, I no longer used actively," he said. However, Fariz acknowledged his weakness that often causes him to slip back when facing psychological pressure.
