Through the BUND Lifetainment podcast, Rachel mentioned that she was not recognized by her mother due to work demands.
As known, Rachel comes from a broken home background, and her mother, Vien Tasman, had to struggle to support her child and family as a single parent.
"You used to get angry too, remember? When Mommy was working and said she was single," said Vien Tasman to Rachel. "Mommy hid you from the people at the office," she continued.
At that time, Rachel was still in elementary school. Even then, her mom asked Rachel to call her aunt when meeting her office friends.
"If we happen to meet Mommy's office friends, make sure to talk to her (Rachel) and say aunt, okay?" she added.
At that time, Rachel's anger and frustration mixed together because she was not recognized as her mom's child. However, as she grew older, Rachel began to understand her situation back then.
After 6 years of working, only then did her mother inform her colleagues and superiors that she actually already had a child.
“Mom has been working at that company for 10 years, and only in the sixth year did Mom confess and admit to her boss that Mom actually has a child. Only then Mom brought you to the office,” she concluded.
