Portrait of Shahnaz Soehartono, Decides to Divorce After 10 Years of Marriage - Rising from Adversity

Known as a presenter, journalist, and writer, Shahnaz has inspired many people, proving that she is a multi-talented woman.

Quoting from the Daniel Mananta Network YouTube channel, the woman affectionately known as Inez shares her love story. Inez grew up in a loving family environment, where her parents were always affectionate and harmonious. 

"I live in my family, raised in a family full of love. I saw how affectionate my mom and dad were from the beginning. They would hold hands everywhere, kiss everywhere, hugging in all places," said Shahnaz to Daniel Mananta.

Since the age of 16, Shahnaz has been in a romantic relationship with Aldi Wiratsongko. After 8 years of dating, they decided to get married on September 14, 2013.

From her marriage to Aldi, Shahnaz was blessed with a son. The presence of their child further completes their happiness as a family. 

However, after ten years of navigating their marriage, Shahnaz and Aldi decided to part ways. This decision was certainly not easy for either of them.

"At that time, hmm we, never stopped arguing. It felt like there was always something that made things messy and I felt. Why do I feel so broken? And oh, it turned out I was not happy with my life and I looked at my child's face at that time. He was just about to turn three, oh sorry, he was three years old and I felt why couldn't I be there for him," said Shahnaz Mariela Savitri Soehartono.

"To become a happier person so that I can make him happy too. Because it's impossible to make your child happy if you're not happy yourself, in my opinion," he said.

"And then that's what suddenly came to my mind. No, if I keep going like this I will ruin him, I will ruin his life, I gotta find help (I will ruin him, I will ruin his life, so I have to find help)," he continued.

"I have to make a decision that might be life changing, it might be difficult, but maybe that's gonna be the best decision of my life (but maybe that's going to be the best decision of my life)," he recounted.

This farewell marks the beginning of a new phase in Shahnaz's life. Not long after her separation, Shahnaz released a book titled Finding The Light In Me. 

This book serves as a platform for Shahnaz to share her life story, from bitterness to the healing process she experienced. Through her writing, she opens up and shares her life lessons with readers.

In her book, Shahnaz reveals that for years she was trapped in a people pleaser mentality (a term for someone who always tries to please others). This affected her chaotic life and often made her suppress feelings of bitterness. 

However, gradually, Shahnaz began to piece her life back together, seeking the light within herself that had been hidden all along.
