Sony Valentino Tulung started his career from the bottom. Before becoming famous, he did various odd jobs—from selling export magazines to being a broadcaster at several well-known radio stations like Ramako and Prambors. His popularity skyrocketed when he was appointed as the host of the legendary quiz show “Famili 100” on AnTeve. This show was very popular in the 90s and successfully brought Sony to the peak of his popularity.

He hosted “Famili 100” for nine years and won the Panasonic Award three consecutive years from 1997 to 1999. Sony was also known as one of the best quiz presenters in the country during his time. However, after that golden era, his name gradually faded from the screen and he began exploring various fields.

After no longer appearing regularly on TV, Sony tried his luck in the business world, including real estate, culinary, stocks, and laundry. He also hosted several off-air events and other television programs, but none were as iconic as his time as the host of “Famili 100”.

Not only in the entertainment world, Sony also ventured into politics. He is known to have switched parties several times, and in 2021 he joined the Prosperous Society Era Party (EMAS) as the Deputy Chairman of the DPP. Although his political career is not as prominent as his career in entertainment, it shows his efforts to continue contributing in various fields.

Now, Sony is more active as a public speaking instructor. He is often invited to conduct communication training at various institutions and companies. In addition, he continues to work as an MC for corporate and off-air events, leveraging his extensive experience as a key selling point.

Amidst his busy schedule, Sonny is also active on social media. He often shares educational content, especially related to communication and self-confidence in public. Not only that, he is also known for having an active and enjoyable lifestyle—one of his hobbies is salsa dancing, which he often showcases on his social media.

His personal life also became a focus of attention. Sony was once married to Virginia Sumakud, but the marriage ended in 2012. From that marriage, he was blessed with a daughter, Casey Rebecca Tulung, who is now a teenager and pursuing an education in communication.
