Before the verdict hearing, Nia and Ardi expressed their feelings.

"We'll see later. Yes, we must be sincere. Just surrender," said Nia Ramadhani.

"Nervous, indeed. Just pray for the best," added Ardi Bakrie.

This husband and wife couple were also caught on camera leaning on each other, seemingly giving each other support.

In this verdict, Nia Ramdhani, Ardi Bakrie, and their personal driver were sentenced to one year in prison, which is heavier than the prosecutor's demand of 12 months of rehabilitation.

The judge, in delivering the one-year prison sentence to the three defendants, considered aggravating and mitigating factors.

"Aggravating, the defendants' actions do not support the government's ongoing efforts to combat drugs, the actions of defendants 2 and 3 as public figures who should set a good example for the community but behave otherwise," said the judge.

"On the other hand, the defendants' mitigating factors are that they have never been previously punished and they admit and promise not to repeat their actions. The defendants have family responsibilities," the judge stated.

Nia Ramdhani couldn't hold back her tears when the verdict was announced.

As known, Nia Ramadhani, her husband Ardi Bakrie, and their driver, Zen Vivanto, were arrested by the narcotics unit of Central Jakarta Police on July 7, 2021.
