Portrait of Zaskia Mecca and Hanung Bramantyo Distributing Aid to Syria, A Birthday Gift from Her Husband

On her 37th birthday on September 8, 2024, Zaskia Adya Mecca made a unique request to her husband, Hanung Bramantyo. Instead of wanting material gifts, Zaskia asked to be involved in humanitarian activities in Syria. Her wish reflects her concern for others, especially for those facing difficulties due to the conflict.

In the days leading up to her departure, Zaskia once again asked for permission from Hanung to carry out a humanitarian mission in Syria. Unexpectedly, Hanung not only granted permission but also decided to accompany Zaskia on the trip. It was clear that her husband faithfully accompanied Zaskia during her time in Syria. 

This couple brought aid focused on helping refugees cope with the extreme cold weather in Syria. With this humanitarian mission, Zaskia and Hanung wanted to witness firsthand the conditions of the refugees amidst the harsh winter, while also showing their support and empathy directly.

During their visit to the refugee camp, Zaskia appeared very touched by the extraordinary resilience of the refugees, especially the women. She expressed her admiration for the strength possessed by women amidst the difficulties they face. Zaskia was even seen helping to carry boxes containing the aid. 

After a long journey, they arrived at the camp and took the time to interact with the refugees. Upon arrival, Zaskia and Hanung chatted and listened to the stories of the refugees, bringing a special warmth amidst the difficult atmosphere they faced. 

This couple is very attentive to the conditions of the refugees in the Syrian camp. They realize that assistance to face the winter is urgent, considering the extreme weather that will soon come and threaten the safety of the refugees there.

The most touching moment occurred when Hanung distributed gifts to the refugee children. With a bright smile, he was surrounded by those eagerly receiving the gifts, creating a warm atmosphere amidst the difficult conditions they were experiencing.

Zaskia also expressed that the feelings of the children in the camp are very happy when new people visit them. Even just being given candy, they will love it very much and continue to hug without stopping. 

In the Syrian refugee camp, the children showed extraordinary enthusiasm when asked to be photographed while looking at a phone. This moment became an emotional highlight, depicting how they, despite living in hardship, remain eager to interact and engage with technology that is often considered commonplace elsewhere. 

Through this action, the celebrity couple not only helped alleviate the burden of refugees but also inspired many people to care more for others. Zaskia and Hanung hope that the aid they bring can provide a little hope amid the difficulties faced by the Syrian community, especially with the arrival of the extreme winter season.
