Pregnant and Still Teaching Art in Kampung Joglo

Kapanlagi.com - Young designer Migi Rihasalay continues to give back to the future generations of the nation by encouraging them to be active in the world of art. Two months ago, the wife of Andrew James held a painting class with the theme of Recycle Bottle Art. This time, on Sunday (18/6/2023), in Kampung Joglo Tanjung Lesung, she held an art class with the theme of Painting on Canvas.

"Still about art, and this time the focus is on painting on canvas. The goal is to explore the potential and talent of the children so that they have the opportunity to hone their individual abilities," said Migi Rihasalay, who is 9 months pregnant but still enthusiastic about teaching.

As for the participants, Migi said that they were the same group of children as before, but this time there were 45 participants compared to the previous 32.

"This new activity uses the canvas method so that children can continue to develop their artistic talents. I am very satisfied and happy with the results of their paintings today," she added.

"Throughout the activity, they remained focused, even though I divided the canvas into two parts, with the top part themed SUNSET, and the bottom part for them to explore freely. But each of them still had different imaginations, such as the placement of objects in their paintings," Migi added.

1. Happy to Train Future Great Artists

The learning activity starts from 8 am to 12 pm. Despite being pregnant, Migi did not feel tired during the activity until it was finished. It is because she sees the spirit of the children to learn and wants to develop their talents.

Migi hopes that with the Sunday Morning Class activity in Kampung Joglo, especially the charity activity that will become routine, some of them will become great artists and become pride for Indonesia. Indeed, everything must be nurtured from childhood, including the children she is guiding now. They are like seeds that will become lush trees in the future.

"I am very grateful for this opportunity. So I will continue to try to be productive even in my old pregnant state which is said to be vulnerable. But in building this Sunday school activity which provides opportunities for children to explore their potential and build their dreams to become artists. There is no word of fatigue and surrender for me in any situation, if there is an opportunity I will continue to try to provide a place and take my time for art class activities in Kampung Joglo," said Migi with her characteristic smile.
