Prilly Latuconsina Reveals Being Considered as Someone's Popularity Leech, Difficult to Get Advertising Offers While Starring in the Soap Opera 'GANTENG-GANTENG SERIGALA'

Prilly Latuconsina's career can be said to be at its peak. Her acting skills are beyond doubt. She has been involved in the Indonesian film and soap opera industry for 14 years.

Recently, the producer of the film TEMURUN (2024) was invited to the Domani Siblings' YouTube podcast to talk about life as a public figure from the beginning to the difficult experiences she has had. However, there is one sensational story that has caught the attention of social media users. Prilly revealed an incident 10 years ago when she did not receive any advertising offers at all because of one of her co-stars.

1. Considered Riding on Popularity

The success that Prilly felt at the age of 27 years certainly was not easily achieved at first. There were ups and downs that were always entangled in every process of her livelihood. Apparently, there were two painful things that Prilly experienced during her career and it happened 10 years ago.

“I never talked about this anywhere. I think, it's time to reveal. Maybe what made me like this now is an experience ten years ago,” said Prilly Latuconsina.

“At that time, there was talk from someone. They said, ‘Prilly is riding on someone's popularity, she won't be famous if she's not gossiped about by this person,’” she added.

From there, Prilly was determined to rise up and work hard again, which made her able to achieve success in the Indonesian film industry.

She hopes, “Oh Allah, sustenance is determined by You. But hopefully someday, I can prove to everyone that without being gossiped about by anyone, I can stand on my own two feet. I can become famous without gossiping about any guy. I am in the position I am now, it's because of my work.”

2. Difficult to Get Advertisement Jobs

The second thing that hurt Prilly Latuconsina's heart is about offers to become an advertisement star. A few years ago, the soap opera GANTENG-GANTENG SERIGALA successfully attracted the attention of all people. However, who would have thought that the popularity of the soap opera would put her in between two choices when approached by brands.

“You can check from 2014-2016, I didn't have any brand (advertisement) at all. No one approached me to become a brand ambassador or advertisement star,” said Prilly.

“Turns out, because these brands always want to pair me with one person,” she added.

Although she did not mention the name in the statement, fans immediately became aware and focused on Aliando Syarief, her co-star in the GGS soap opera at that time.

3. Loss of Several Jobs

When she found out that she had to be paired with someone when starring in an advertisement, Prilly acted normal and thought that maybe the advertisement would be good or popular. Unexpectedly, there was a management party that refused if their artist was paired with Prilly.

Prilly revealed, “The management of that person gave their brand a choice. 'I don't want my talent to be paired with Prilly. So, you have to choose, whether you want my talent or Prilly,'”

“So, I was never paired in the advertisement with that person because their management didn't want to. I lost several jobs because of that,” she added.
