Indonesian National Volleyball Player, Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has proven her achievements internationally. Together with the Daejeon ChengKwanJang Red Sparks team, she competed in South Korea. On October 17, 2023, although her team lost, Megawati's name continued to attract the attention of the South Korean society.

Being involved in the world of volleyball for a long time with a difficult process, she was touched when she became the first Indonesian athlete to join the South Korean Volleyball League. Despite losing in her debut match, she is determined to win the next match with the Red Sparks.

Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi, an Indonesian volleyball athlete born on September 20, 1999 in Jember, East Java. Her career is closely associated with volleyball, and she has a height of 185cm. 

At this young age, Megawati does not forget the proverb seek knowledge as far as China. Driven by her dreams as an athlete, she continued her studies in Management and successfully graduated in 2020.

Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has loved volleyball since she was 14 years old. With her consistent and determined attitude, she joined the Surabaya Bank Jatim team in the Livoli Main Division in 2015. Over time, she moved up to the Proliga level with the Jakarta Pertamina Fastron team from 2015 to 2022.

As her career went global, she made her debut playing abroad in 2021 with the Thailand Supreme Chonburi-E Tech club. In 2022, she joined the Vietnam Hà Phú Thanh Hóa club. Recently, she has been a topic of conversation as she joined the Daejeon ChengKwanJang Red Sparks club in the Korean Volleyball League.

Volleyball has become her lifelong companion, and she has achieved numerous accomplishments, including Best Opposite at the ASEAN Grand Prix 2022, MVP of the Livoli Main Division 2022, Bronze Medal at the SEA Games 2023, and most recently, MVP in the Korean Volleyball League.

3. Attracting South Korea's Attention

Being part of the South Korean Volleyball League, Daejeon ChengKwanJang Red Sparks has caught the attention of the citizens of ginseng. This hijab-wearing female player has become the golden weapon for the Red Sparks team with her skills and performance that she always demonstrates during matches.

Thanks to the match on October 17, 2023 against the Hwangseong IBK Altos team, even though her team lost, she still became the MVP with a score of 21 points. There is even a compilation of her scoring those points, along with her fiery and enthusiastic gameplay without losing the smile on her face.

Becoming a volleyball idol in South Korea, Megawati was interviewed by the Red Sparks team about her experience during training with her teammates. "The training was very tough to the point that I cried. Nevertheless, I am very happy that we can fulfill the coach's expectations to play an exciting match and win the opening match. I will continue to work hard to show my good abilities and bring joy to my fans," she said.

Effort will not betray the results, Megawati continues to progress and work hard to bring honor to Indonesia, and she is determined to make the Daejeon ChengKwanJang Red Sparks team win in the next match.
