Indosiar Presents Surprise, Hui PENTAGON - DK iKON Ready to Collaborate with Indonesian Dangdut Stars

In order to realize the dream of introducing dangdut to the world, Indosiar is making a new breakthrough.

Through a new program titled DANGDUT KPOP 29THER, Indosiar is ready to invite dangdut and Kpop fans in the country to dance together.

Through the latest Variety Reality program titled DANGDUT KPOP 29THER, Indosiar will present collaborations between young Indonesian dangdut stars and popular K-Pop stars.

"The inspiration came when Rhoma Irama sang a BTS song last year, then according to a survey, the most popular songs in Indonesia are KPop and dangdut, so we were inspired to make dangdut known worldwide with this breakthrough," said SCM Programming Director Harsiwi Achmad at SCTV Tower, Jakarta, on Tuesday (24/10/2023).

Young Indonesian dangdut stars will collaborate with famous K-Pop stars to perform dangdut songs that will be rearranged with a Korean music touch.

"Definitely dangdut that will be K-pop-ified. We will choose good dangdut songs and give them a Korean touch. I hope there will be a new genre from this dangdut and KPop collaboration," said Harsiwi Achmad.

The selected young Indonesian dangdut stars for this program are Afan DA, Sridevi DA, Melly Lee, Lady Rara, Selfi Yamma, and Fildan DA.

Meanwhile, the selected K-Pop stars are Hui Pentagon, 10 CM, Kim Jaehwan, Hyuk VIXX, DK iKON, and Bang Yedam.

"When I first heard dangdut music, Bang Judika taught me. At that time, I heard it live and I was really impressed and fascinated by dangdut music," said DK Ikon through the Zoom application when asked why he was interested in participating in this program.

"At that time, I also knew that dangdut is a traditional song from the Indonesian people. From there, I became curious about the collaboration of dangdut with KPop. The result of the collaboration will definitely be amazing, and that's why I am interested and challenged," he continued.

The DANGDUT KPOP 29THER event is part of the 29th anniversary celebration of Indosiar. This program is planned to be launched in conjunction with the 29th anniversary of Indosiar.

This program can be realized through collaboration between Indosiar and Encast Studio, which houses big names in the K-Pop music industry.

"We will launch this event during Indosiar's 29th anniversary. Because the format is very detailed, the preparation is very thorough. After the launch, this program will be aired weekly for six episodes," said Harsiwi Achmad.
