Prosecutor Demands 1 Year, Askara Asks for 3 Months of Rehabilitation

Kapanlagi.com - Former husband Nindy Ayunda, Askara Parasady Harsono, is once again undergoing a trial for alleged drug abuse and illegal firearm possession at the West Jakarta District Court.

This time, the agenda is the defense plea read by Askara's legal counsel, Benedictus Wisnu, who requested a lenient sentence.

"Basically, as we stated in the trial. Basically, we request that our client be given the lightest possible punishment," said Wisnu when met at the West Jakarta District Court on Monday, (17/5).

1. Want to be Rehabilitated

Previously, the Public Prosecutor demanded a 1-year prison sentence reduced by the detention period. However, Askara wants to be rehabilitated in order to be free from drug addiction.

"The defendant has never been sentenced before, always cooperative from the arrest to the police process, the process in the prosecutor's office, and until now also cooperative. The defendant also has many dependents and employees who need to be supported, which lightens the defendant's situation," he said.

"That is one of our hopes, to undergo rehabilitation for 3 months as lightly as possible. We hope that our request can be granted by the judge. Yes, when arrested, Mr. Aska was not using drugs and was not intoxicated, and from the beginning, Mr. Aska has been very cooperative," he said.

2. Apologizing

Askara, who is attending the trial virtually, expressed his apology and promised not to repeat the same mistake. "I apologize and promise not to do it again. And I ask for the lightest possible punishment," said Askara.

As a reminder, Askara Parasady Harsono was apprehended by the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Unit at his residence at 19:00 WIB on Thursday (7/1).

From the arrest, the police found 1.5 pills of the psychotropic drug happy five and an illegal firearm of the Baretta type with a caliber of 6.35.
